Structural Framing

The bones of your house matter more than anything you can see. We frame to hurricane code — every time.

Framing for the Florida Panhandle

Northwest Florida sits in a high-velocity hurricane zone. That means the Florida Building Code requires specific framing methods — hurricane straps, engineered tie-downs, proper header sizing, and wind-rated sheathing. Cut corners on framing and you find out during the next storm.

Juan has been framing homes in Destin, Santa Rosa Beach, and Panama City Beach for over 25 years. He's built through multiple hurricane seasons. Every house he frames meets or exceeds code because he's seen what happens to the ones that don't.

What We Frame

  • New construction — full structural framing from slab to roof. Walls, floors, ceilings, and roof trusses.
  • Room additions — tying new framing into existing structure so it carries load properly and meets wind-load requirements.
  • Garage conversions — removing the garage door opening, framing new walls, adding proper headers and insulation.
  • Remodel framing — moving walls, widening openings, adding support beams. Structural changes that need engineering.
  • Second-story additions — reinforcing first-floor framing to support the new load, building up from there.

How We Work

We start with engineered plans. No guessing on beam sizes or truss specs — everything is calculated for your specific span and wind zone. Juan reviews the plans, orders materials, and his crew builds to spec. Inspectors check our work at each stage. Most framing jobs run 1-3 weeks depending on scope.

Why Framing Matters More Here

Inland, framing is straightforward. On the coast, you need simpson strong-ties at every connection, engineered trusses rated for your wind zone, and sheathing nailed on 6-inch centers instead of 12. These aren't upgrades — they're code requirements. But not every contractor does them correctly. We do, because we've been through the inspections hundreds of times and we know what passes.
